Quality matters.
The quality of the content you create and the energy of your community – it’s essence – are far more important than how much you advertise. They’re also more important than what you say you’re going to do, or what you plan to get around to doing, eventually.
So, start with producing quality content.
Then share that with the audience you seek to serve.
Show them that you prioritise the values they care about. That you’re growing the kind of community they want to be a part of.
Spending all day on social media, distributing flyers, or trying to copy and keep up with whatever the community down the road is doing isn’t the best use of your time. It likely won’t get you to where you really want to go.
Rather, choose to be efficient and effective with your time.
Get to know the audience you want to connect with and serve. What are they looking for? How can you help them?
Take what you learn and let it influence the content you create. Always focussing on producing and sharing with them that quality content they’ve come to expect.
That’s how your community will grow. That’s how it will become a healthy, vibrant space for people to meaningfully connect.
When it’s centred around quality content.
